Hydrographic and Bathymetric Surveys
Hydrographic surveys utilize the science of measurement and description of features which affect maritime navigation, marine construction, etc. with an emphasis on identifying the shallow areas that may impact navigation. Bathymetric Surveys also show marine depths however Bathymetric surveys typically provide more detailed topology of the bottom surface. Michael Dequine and Associates, Inc. provides Hydrographic and Bathymetric Surveys by teaming with one of our many sub-consultants. Michael Dequine and Associates, Inc. would typically provide horizontal and vertical survey control points along the corridor to be surveyed. We would then provide topographic surveys of the ground surface down to the water level. Survey control information would also be provided to our sub-consultant who would conduct the Hydrographic or Bathymetric Survey and provide digital drawing information back to Michael Dequine and Associates, Inc. Because the data is based upon the same set of horizontal and vertical control points Michael Dequine and Associates, Inc. can then blend the Hydrographic/Bathymetric survey data with the ground topography and provide our clients with a seamless drawing showing contours and spot elevations from the ground on one side of a water way through the water way, and up the bank on the other side of the water way.
